Editorial Policy
Every page on this site is written to fill a genuine, identifiable gap in publicly available shipping knowledge. We do not publish content solely to target a keyword, and we do not exaggerate claims about carrier pricing or savings. Where a figure depends on current, changeable pricing, we label it as an estimate and point to primary carrier sources.
Sourcing & Review Process
Articles are attributed to the Affordable Shipping Editorial Team rather than a single named writer, because most pages are assembled and checked by more than one person against primary sources — not written from one person's individual experience. Here's specifically what that process involves:
- Primary sources first. Any claim about a specific rate, fee, threshold, or carrier policy is checked against the carrier's or government agency's own published documentation — USPS, UPS, FedEx rate and service guides; U.S. Customs and Border Protection and destination-country customs authorities for duty and de minimis figures — and linked from the page it appears on.
- Estimates are labeled as estimates. Where a figure can vary by account, negotiated rate, or shipment specifics, we say so explicitly rather than presenting one number as universal.
- Scheduled review, not "set and forget." Pages that depend on carrier pricing, DIM divisors, or customs thresholds are re-checked at minimum each time carriers publish their annual General Rate Increase (typically each January), and sooner if a reader flags a change. The "Updated" date on every article reflects the last time it was checked against current sources, not just the last time it was edited.
- Original research is disclosed. Pages in our Research Library state their methodology, sample, and date directly on the page — not just the headline figure.

Corrections Policy
If a reader identifies an inaccuracy, we review it against current primary sources and correct the page promptly, noting the update date. Report corrections to corrections@affordableshipping.com.
Privacy Policy
This site does not sell personal data. Any information submitted through a contact form is used only to respond to that inquiry. We use standard, privacy-respecting analytics to understand which pages are useful, without tracking individuals across other websites.
Disclosure Policy

Where a page includes a link that could earn a commission, that field is disabled by default and, if ever enabled, will be clearly disclosed on the page itself.
